Jace's Story
Jace is an Appaloosa gelding in his late teens. For years he worked hard at a local trail riding/lesson barn. He carried children and adults alike always so patient and steady. Unfortunately Jace was overworked and being starved and not only that...Jace was steadily going blind. The owners of the farm knew this and continued to use him despite his physical condition.
Though his sight was rapidly declining, Jace being as tried and true as he is continued to work for these greedy people. It took me years. YEARS to get him out of that nightmare he was living in. With the help of animal control and another well known horse rescue, he was finally saved. While he is completely blind (he doesn’t even see light or shadows) he lives an amazing, happy and healthy life here at our sanctuary.
He now knows nothing but unconditional love and has unlimited access to quality hay and pasture as well as being fed top quality feed. He is such a love bug and loves daily scratches.
